Over the past 20 years, Franco Loja and Arjan Roskam, called the “Kings of Cannabis,” have actually made countless dollars searching the world for distinct pressures of weed to reproduce and after that offer.
Now, they’ve turned their sights on Equatorial Africa, particularly the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as their next cash cow– and a method to change the marijuana market.
“Equatorial Africa is one the very best maintained due to the fact that of the wars, the absence of facilities, political discontent. All these scenarios developed seclusion there,” Loja described. “So that’s where we’re going.”
Loja and Roskam constructed their international powerhouse on inbred pressures of marijuana called “landraces” that they’ve gathered from all over the world– Argentina, Australia, and Brazil, simply among others areas. Without these pressures, the duo’s different reproducing business, Amsterdam coffeeshops, and even warehouse would not exist.
VICE News met the “Kings of Cannabis” for a journey to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to hunt for among the rarest types of Cannabis yet, the initial Congolese landrace.
